Color: Re-Fresh Mint by China Glaze

I was being lazy and I just painted my nails a solid color. I don't think the picture does the color justice, it is actually a really nice mint candy color.

Misfit Manicure: Royal Silver...

Colors: Dating a Royal by OPI & Silver Mist by Nubar
Konad Image Plate: M64

If you know anything about using Konad you know that you are supposed to use their special nail polish and that most other nail polishes don't really work well with the stamping system. I have found that Silver Mist by Nubar works extremely well with it. I don't know if it is true for all Nubar colors because I only own the one color, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Makeup Storage...

Thursday, November 25, 2010

Being super dorky I use two old card catalog cabinets* to store all of my makeup. It makes storage and separation really easy and I always know where various things are, unless my sister has taken something from it.

The double cabinet contains my everyday makeup, while the fifteen draw cabinet contains various makeup/grooming odds and ends. I store my makeup brushes in a glass container with glass beads inside of it and my makeup palettes are held up in a letter holder. For the time being my nail polish collection is being stored in three plastic boxes separated by brand (mainly OPI, Orly and China Glaze) with some additional brands mixed in.

* I bought both card catalog cabinets from the library that I work at. They were the only two surviving cabinets left in the building.

I purchased all items mentioned with my own money. My opinions have not been sponsored or solicited by anyone, but if you wanna send me free stuff I'd totally take it, try it & give you my honest opinion of it.

Konad...

Thursday, July 1, 2010

The other day I got a Konad™, which is a stamp based nail art system, and I am in love. I've painted my nails in a different way everyday since I've gotten it -- Which if you look at the photos of me holding stuff up in my other blog you can see. I order the bare minimum (their special nail polish - $6.99, the m57 image plate - $6.99 and a stamper/scraper set -$6.99) from them because I didn't know if I was going to like it and I've since realized that I'm obsessed.

Seeing as I loved it so much I went and found on Amazon® that Bundle Monster™ had a twenty-one piece set of their own image plates for $17.99, so I went and ordered those and I'll let you know how they stack up in comparison to the Konad™ image plates. All of the reviews seem to be really good with the exception of the images needing to be slightly bigger. I'll find out in a couple of days how they are.

But yeah, I'm in love with nail art stamping now. It is so easy and I've gotten so many complements on my nails by strangers. Everyone thinks I got them done at a salon and they wanna know which one I had them done at so they can get something similar -- When I tell them I did my nails myself they are shocked and super impressed.

So I must say that Konad™ is an A+ in my book and I'd recommend it to anyone who asks me about it.

I purchased all items mentioned with my own money. My opinions have not been sponsored or solicited by anyone, but if you wanna send me free stuff I'd totally take it, try it & give you my honest opinion of it.

Unii Palette...

Thursday, June 17, 2010

This might sound really dorky, but I’m totally stoked because my Unii Palette™ came in today. What is a Unii Palette™ you ask? Well, it is a “customizable magnetic empty makeup palette” that is a nice and compact way to store various makeup items -- I'm a total makeup junkie, so I had a ball creating a travel palette for my purse.

I learned about Unii Palettes™ through watching one of xSparkage's YouTube videos and I thought it was awesome so I ordered myself one -- Mine is a pretty blue color called twilight.

This is how it came to me:

It comes in a pretty sweet little package, that once opened folds out into the companies logo and on it are the instructions on how to use the product and how to depot your makeup.

I think I'm in love and I might order myself another one for $29.00.

I purchased all items mentioned with my own money. My opinions have not been sponsored or solicited by anyone, but if you wanna send me free stuff I'd totally take it, try it & give you my honest opinion of it.

Introduction...

I've decided that since I love makeup and nail polish so much that I needed a whole other blog to dedicate to it, so here we are. I'm gonna post all the stuff pertaining to my girlie side here and leave the other blog for work and life related issues.
