Got The "T" Part Down In GTL...

Thursday, December 22, 2011

I went on a beauty adventure today... I went to a tanning salon and tanned in a machine for the first time in my life. Why did I do this you ask? Well, my beautiful tan from Aruba/going to the beach with Erin all summer has faded and I refuse to be a pasty bridesmaid at the wedding next month. And since I will not be traveling to a tropical country between now and then, going to a tanning salon was my only option...

I went to your standard tanning salon chain, got the second most expensive package because we (Erin and I) got a new client 30 day special and we went tanning. I opted for the stand up tan, while Erin went with your standard lie down bed.

It was an odd experience, not bad but odd. For my first time they told me to do seven minutes instead of the normal ten minutes in my particular machine. I stood up, held on to the bar above my head and listened to the radio for the seven minutes. The only problem I had was the fact that I took my glasses off to tan and I kinda fell out of the machine when I was trying to get out because I missed a step. Aside from that (because no one saw) it was a good experience and I will be going back tomorrow.

Birchbox: December 2011...

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

My December Birchbox came in and I got some pretty neat things this month.

• BY TERRY Hyaluronic Face Glow • Incoco® Nail Polish Appliqué
• Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Birchbox Pink • Kate Spade New York Twirl •
• ShowStoppers Designer Fashion Tape • eBoost Orange Natural Energy Booster •

I cannot wait to try the Incoco® Nail Polish Appliqués! They are so pretty! I want to put them on now, but I'm going to save them for New Years Eve. I'm also going to save the fashion tape and throw it in my bag for Las Vegas because it seems like something I might end up needing while getting dressed for the wedding -- If you don't know anything about the wedding, I post about it in my other blog.

The shipper label on this months box said Box 11. So, I'm not really sure how the labeling really works from them seeing as last month I got Box 5. I don't know if it is an arbitrary number or if it actually means something. Anyways, as always as soon as Lenni posts her Birchbox contents I'll link to it.

I purchased all items mentioned with my own money. My opinions have not been sponsored or solicited by anyone, but if you wanna send me free stuff I'd totally take it, try it & give you my honest opinion of it.Link

Birchbox Review: Choco Pod...

Monday, December 5, 2011

I know this isn't really beauty related, but it came in my November Birchbox so I'm reviewing it. I just ate the Choco Pod Firecracker by Chuao Chocolatier, which is a dark chocolate, chipotle, salt and popping candy chocolate. And I must say I thought it was amazing and I am not a big chocolate person.

The dark chocolate was a perfect. It had a wonderful pop from the popping candies (Which I love normally) and it had a subtile after note of the chiles. I thought it was perfectly balanced and that it tasted great.

You can order it online and there is a link on the Chuao Chocolatier's website to do so. At $18.00 plus shipping for a pack of three 80g/2.82oz bars, it's kinda pricey but for a once in a blue moon splurge I say go crazy. I'll be ordering some because I really feel like I know people who would love it.

Spotted: Hello Kitty Shirt...

I was futzing around on the various websites and I noticed the poster for the up coming Charlize Theron movie Young Adult (2011) and I saw that she is wearing the H&M Hello Kitty shirt that I worn on my second day in London last summer. I don't know, it's stupid and dorky but it made me happy. I love that shirt because it reminds me of so many wonderful memories from London, as well as my entire trip to Europe last summer with Erin.

Things I Did Wearing The Hello Kitty Shirt:

  • "Held up" Big Ben
  • Rode on the Eye of London
  • Took a tour of Buckingham Palace & had tea outside in the garden
  • Visited the Royal Mews
  • Wandered around Trafalgar Square
  • Visited Piccadilly Circus
  • Had a creepy British guy outside of a pub call out "Ello Kittahh..." as I walked past
  • Took pictures in a red telephone box
I don't have a good picture of me wearing the shirt, thus I didn't put one up. But it is actually the shirt I have on in the picture next to the one with me in the pink wig and sunglasses on my banner. It is actually a picture of my on the Eye of London.

Nail Polish Crazy...

Saturday, December 3, 2011

Last night I was supposed to babysit Erin's nieces with her, so because the oldest of the two is obsessed with nail polish like your truly I put almost my entire nail polish collection into my train case and a bag to bring to their house to show her -- Erin was bragging about how much nail polish I own to her. They ended up not needing us to come over so I ended up going over to Justin's mother's house and I brought all my nail polish in because I thought that the girls would get a kick out of it. They were thrilled when they saw all of the nail polish. So much so that they decided to count every bottle I had with me and the oldest did the math to figure out about how much I spent on it all (I gave her a price in the middle to figure out the price of my collection).

Here are 170 bottles of various brands of nail polish, averaged at a cost of over $1,100...

Brands Include:

  • OPI
  • Orly
  • China Glaze
  • Butter London
  • Essie
  • NARS
  • M·A·C
  • Zoya
  • Nubar
  • Savina
  • Sally Hansen
  • Nicole by OPI
  • Claire's Mood For Thought
  • Forever 21 Love & Beauty Polish
  • H&M Polish
  • Nail art polish
  • Miscellaneous drugs store brands
I know I have more nail polish than this. My mother and sister both borrow bottles because I have almost every color and finish anyone could possibly want (i.e. - Glitter, matte, creme, metallic, color changing, holographic, crackle, etc.) .

I purchased all items mentioned with my own money. My opinions have not been sponsored or solicited by anyone, but if you wanna send me free stuff I'd totally take it, try it & give you my honest opinion of it.
